Nancy Fisher of Flat Rock, North Carolina, creates fine quality hand-knit items and handcrafted corn husk dolls. She is a recent transplant to the Southeast. New employment brought her and her and her husband to the Hendersonville after 35 years in Rochester, New York.
Most of her life, Nancy has enjoyed sewing, knitting and making crafts for family and friends. Since becoming a grandmother, she rekindled her knitting skills and made many knitted baby items for the grand babies. Her work brought praise from family and friends who encouraged her to offer it for sale. Experience from her years as a Girl Scout Leader turned her talent for making corn husk dolls into an enjoyable hobby that she now offers for sale along with her knits.
Nancy enjoys working with her hands and the creative feeling she gets when she completes a project. She is very pleased to be in a milder climate and experience the friendliness of the South. The abundance of mountain craft stores is a special attraction.
Nancy is delighted to be a member of Carolina Mountain Artist Guild happily sharing the camaraderie of the artists in the guild. |
